Online Voter ID Registration & Status Tracking In J&K

Jammu and Kashmir state electoral office has developed a website to provide an opportunity to residents of the state to register their voter id cards online. The website provides step by step procedure for to manage inclusion of new voters in the state electoral roll. You can also check the status of your issued EPIC on this website as well as get information about electoral processes, polling stations and can also search your name in the current updated list of J&K voters.

Earlier the Jammu and Kashmir state CEO used to run campaigns for people to register for voter ids in every 5 years whenever the state goes to elections, but these days it can be done online from anywhere in the state. Regardless of what information you are looking for you can get it all on Jammu and Kashmir chief electoral officer website. Make sure you know the eligibility criteria to have yourself registered for voter id. You must be 18 years and above and must be a citizen of India.

To submit your application online, please visit the J&K election commission website here: http://ceojk.nic.in/ on this hope page at the left hand side you can see “Online Voter Registration” click on this link and proceed to next page here: http://ceojk.nic.in/efiling/auth_pages/adminlogin.aspx

On this new page you can see “New User? Sign up” link, click on it to proceed with new user account registration. For this you need to use your mobile number where you will get an SMS for your password and login details. Once you have the login details, go back to http://ceojk.nic.in/efiling/auth_pages/adminlogin.aspx and login.

Now you will have the form 6 for inclusion of your name in Jammu and Kashmir voter list. Fill in the form details, attach a photograph of passport size and also attach documents for photo, address and identity proof to show them that you are a resident of the state and living at the current location for more than 6 months.

After filling all the details you can submit the form for processing and in few weeks you will be visited by your district BLO for verification of your application. Successful verification will get you voter id in about 60 days.

There are also other forms available on the J&K CEO website for correction of voter’s details, issuance of duplicate id and for removal of name from the list. Similarly there is also on option on the website to search your name if you already have a voter id issued.

For faster approval always provide clear and copy of scanned documents for identity proof and photograph because that helps election omission to process your application faster. At the time of registration please provide correct mobile number and email address to avoid communication issues. For more details information you can also call on helpline number 1950 which is toll free. Also make sure you uploaded photograph should not exceed 1 MB in size otherwise they will reject it.
